Aislin’s Easter Bonnet Parade 29th March 2010

There were alot of very excited children showing off their BEAUTIFUL Easter Bonnets. It was so nice that they did them at school, this year ,and we didn’t have to create something on the spare of the moment at home. They all did a wonderful job! Now they are just waiting to fill their little baskets with choccy eggs!

Aislins Birthday was actually on the Saturday, but she decided she would wait to have her little friends over on the Sunday. Another of our friends Birthday is on the same day, so we went there for dinner. So she really had two parties.

and then on Sunday ,the giggling girly party…She had a great day and is enjoying her DS, that she got.

Tastes of Rutherglen, 14th March 2010

Tastes of Rutherglen is a show case of all the amazing wines, wineries and food we produce in our area. Eating houses marry up with a winery and match a dish with the wine. Most Wineries have music and or entertainment. We went to a couple but we always seem to end up back at St .Leonards. We ate there and had a couple of bottles of wine. After a while we discovered that they had a bocci set. We had a lot of fun TRYING to play it.

The Birthday morning was full of excitement when Ella received her prezzies, her main present was a new bike.

That night we had a family dinner and a cake. The next weekend she had her friends over for a party.Well actually the plan was ,that everyone come here, have lunch then walk down to the pool. But of course when we woke up it was raining, so we had to really quickly come up with plan “B”. Which I had know idea what it was? but luckily the girls and I had watched a home show the night before and they did some canvas’, that inspired us.The girls enjoyed creating them, I think they did a good job.

A little Sunday Drive.20th Feb 2010

We thought that we would pack a picnic and head off for the day. Some friends of ours joined us. First stop was to Pfieffers Winery. This is one of my favourite wineries, it overlooks Sunday Creek, and in the summer , 100s of turtles come out to play and love some old bread crumbs.Rhys ,Ella and Jack walked down the embankment and across a plank onto the pylon for a closer look.

Second stop was to some Aboriginal caves, we didn’t realise that it was an 1hr round trip ,walk. So we will put that back on the to do list.We all ,only had thongs(flip flops) on so that wasn’t really going to cut it, as a walking shoe. Next stop was Woolshed Falls. We wanted to take the kids and swim in the water holes and rock pools, there wasn’t alot of water running as we have had a lack of rain, but still quite scenic.

We then went into Beechworth and had to stop of at the infamous, Beechworth Bakery mmmm ..they have the BEST beestings ever made! Then wandered around the shops and then found a little boutique Brewery, which we had some nice little tastings. All together a lovely day out.

OMG! My eldest baby is going to High School! Makes me feel soooo old. He is so excited and can’t wait to get there. I just can’t believe that it’s the start ,of a whole new phase in our life…FREAKING ME OUT! I wasn’t allowed to take him to school.A friend from up the road, walked together. I am proud ,not a tear did I shed, but very close.

Australia Day Parade

A Corowa tradition on the January long weekend, they hold a parade celebrating Australia Day.

The boys were on the Scout float, they actually won it…so they were all pleased.

Dad drove his old tractor in the parade alongside the other historical society members.

After the parade we went to have a swim and tea down the river, where some friends were camping.

Mildura 19th-23rd Jan 10

For my week off, I took the kids to Mildura ( Gwynfor didn’t have any time off) . Car was packed the night before and we had planned to set of at about 7am Tuesday morning we were loading into the car when we noticed that the rear right hand wheel was flat as a tack. Seriously that car!!!!! Anyway after NRMA put enough air in it to get to tyre place and it was fixed ,we didn’t head off until 9:30 only a couple of hours behind schedule. The trip over was luckily uneventful.We made it in about 5 and half hours. Always lovely to catch up with Kate ,Mitch,Lucy and Will.

On Wednesday morning we went to the Irymple pool for a few hours for a bit of a relaxing swim and for lunch.Good way to cool down when it’s 43 degrees…

Another day we spent at the Mildura Aqua Coaster, it was the first time Will had been on it and he LOVED it! So much fun watching their faces as the come down.

We also fitted in a bit of shopping and managed to catch up with a few friends that live there. A nice time away.

Waterslide on the Yarra foreshore 5th Jan 10

Day off yay! The kids and I packed a picnic and headed off to Yarrawonga, we met some friends there that live in Echuca.

On the fore shore in Yarrawonga they have a waterslide and a great swimming area and nice shady trees.It was really nice afternoon.

We had a lovely evening with our friends on their new house boat, pontoony, party bargy thingy! Not sure what the official name of it is , but it’s very comfortable. Luckily we live very near to the river ,so we just met them at the closest spot to us on the river , and they pulled in and collected us, few drinkies and no car to drive home……

We pulled up a couple of times ,one for a swim and the kids had fun trying to swing off this rope, and then we stopped for a BBQ tea.
